Once upon a time a little luchadora named Avispa decided she was moving to Mexico City… for real this time. No foreseeable return ticket. An apartment. A new trade. A plan to try to make it into CMLL.
That’s right, folks, I’m leaving the U.S. of A. on May first! Pieces of my real-person life have all lined up just so (rent going up, not being overly gung-ho about my new housemate, new job being…fine… just not super inspiring and lacking great advancement opportunities, a handy expiration time on my current car insurance, and so forth) that all signs seem to point to CDMX.
Hell, I’m 25, in solid physical shape, unmarried, no children, I don’t own property… why would I not move to a foreign country to pursue a life dream of mine?
Sure, I love my parents (who live in WA) and I’ll miss my friends (not to mention my LLV family). But they’ll likely all be here when/ if I come back. I don’t want to pass this chance by and end up with a severe case of the “what if’s” later in life.
So, here’s the deal: I’ve got two more bookings in WA before I leave. Want to see me wrestle? Come out to LLV’s Noche de Reyes show on April 14 or either showtime at Alma Mater in Tacoma on April 21st. Who knows when the next time you’ll get to see me wrestle in the States will be?
Last but not least, I’ve started a Patreon page. What does that mean? Well, a lot of the time lucha libre isn’t lucrative enough to make a living. If you’re able to spare a few extra dollars each month to support my pursuit of the art of lucha libre, that would help ensure I can continue to live in Mexico City to train. It’s kind of like supporting public radio: if you’re able to donate, I can focus on bringing you some high quality lucha libre. Your patronage would help me with rent, gym dues, and training fees. In return, you’d get exclusive goodies reserved just for my Patrons. If you have a sec, stop by my page and check it out.

Anywho… Mexico, here I come.
We are going to miss you! You are our favorite LLV performer!
Thanks, Yuri! I’m going to miss performing with LLV.
